My dad is pretty sure that is Jimmy's wife...so according to a previous entry that would be Eva, the teacher.......his memory is very spotty..but some days he amazes me!
Did you determine that Jimmy is a relative of yours??

Yes Jimmy and I are related. He was my first cousin once removed.
The father of Jimmy and his brother John (Jack), was Alfred BATHER (wife Lily WEST).
Alf's dad was James (wife Louisa MAWSON).
James' brother was William (my great grandfather, whose photo looks down upon me from the wall above my PC).
William's son was Joseph.
Joseph's son was James George...and he was my dad.

My brother and sister in law are too. End of April I think.
What is classed as cold in Mexico?

I hear the north has snow forecast for tomorrow. Guess who has a trip to Wakefield archives planned!

The nights don't look too clever but I think Mexico City's quite high up. Anyway I think we'll just about cope with days as 'cold' as that. Beats the hell out of Haggate graveyard in February!

Consider what we class as hot though in comparison.

I seem to have caused the subject to veer off onto the weather.......we are all English aren't we.
Where I live (one hour's drive from Mexico City) the elevation is 2600 metres above sea level and it is the highest town in all of North America, even higher than Denver.
The nights are cold this time of the year (maybe 3 degrees C below zero) but the days are sunny and warm.
I suspect the tourists will be going to Cancun, Acapulco or Puerto Vallarta where it will be HOT. So don't worry.
Yes, I bet Haggate Cemetery is colder than here. I suppose my blood has watered down after so many years and I feel the cold.

Hi Rob, I have a Mary Brierley born c1860, daughter of Benjamin and Martha (Foulds) Brierley. I don't know any more about her as I descend from her brother William, and haven't followed her as yet.
You can find her family tree on the home page.
Is she the same Mary Brierley as yours?

Hi everyone
It's been ages snce I visited this site but couldn't resist coming back.
As I mentioned:
I have Alfred BATHER marrying Lily WEST.
Lily died in 1938, and now I find he remarried the following year to Elsie NUTTER.
NUTTER seems to be a very old an illustrious name in Lancashire.
Does anyone remember Elsie? She was living at 35 Church Street, Briercliffe when her mother Sarah died and left her money to her and her brother Thomas Burrows NUTTER.
Elsie died in Burnley reg. district in 1992 but I don't know where she was buried/cremated.
Alf. died in 1963 and was buried in Haggate with his first wife Lily.
