Hi,

I'm wondering:

is there a "society" similar to this for Heptonstall - Hebden Bridge?

I have a mysterious ancestor or 2 from Heptonstall - Hebden Bridge - names include Greenwood and Helliwell - very common names - names akin to Smith in the Heptonstall - Hebden Bridge area.

anyhow - maybe a Heptonstall society may be of help sorting things out?

thankyou

Robert

Hi,
this might be worth a try, if not they could point you in the right direction.

thanks for the suggestion - I have had a look - and must now consider whether to purchase a membership - certainly the site doesn't seem to be as friendly as this group -

cheers

Thanks Robert!

My aim in creating this site was to provide the info that I would like to have seen online when I first started researching. It has always frustrated me that there are very few Parish records available without a trip to a Lancashire library, thats not helpful to someone in another country!
In doing what I'm doing, my research gets a boost as I'm always stumbling onto Sutcliffe records I hadn't got.

It also take a little pressure off the Society committee. It's much quicker to raise a query on a forum than to write a letter. You also get more than one persons ideas!

This is quite an informative site on the Calderdale area Robert.
