Find this a very useful site, and everything is very reasonably priced.

But that brings up a family website. For the Lancs Family History and Heraldry Society you need www.lfhhs.org.uk

I've been a member for many years, and I guess other contributors to this site have. It's the place of course for local family history : they have a number of branches, including the Pendle one.

Do join !

Rex

I've been a member of lfhhs for many years. It's an excellent society. The Pendle and Burnley branch has its own website, with online newletters and lots of information at:

www.lfhhs-pendlenandburnley.org.uk

I have ancestors from the Rossendale valley, and this branch also has its own website:

www.rossendale-lfhhs.fsnet.co.uk

I had very thorough, efficient service from Mrs. Denise Harman early last year. She did some research at the Lancashire Record Office for me, but she will search in other places as well. Her fee was 14 pounds an hour.

Mrs. Harman's email address is harman@blueyonder.co.uk

Try it through this http://www.lancashire-fhhs.org.uk/society/branches.htm then click on which branch you are interested in.

Hi Stephanie,

I typed an extra 'l' in the Rossendale address. It should be

www.rossendale-fhhs.fsnet.co.uk

I tried the pendleand burnley one directly from this site and couldn't get in either, but when I typed the same address into Google I had no problem. Same with Rossendale when I corrected it. I don't understand why this happened. Have I missed something?

You can also follow Gloria's suggestion and gain access from the main lfhhs site. Also, if you click on Links from the pendleand burnley page you can reach Rossendale if you need it.

My apologies to everyone! I had typed an extra letter in the pendleand burnley address also. It is

www.lfhhs-pendleandburnley.org.uk

It should be OK now.

I'm having treatment on my eyes on Wednesday. Maybe I should just wait until after that before I attempt any further postings. That's my excuse anyway.
