Hey Stephanie, maybe they are a little further back.

On a completely different note, have you seen this Pickles grave? http://www.briercliffesociety.co.uk/Gra ... ckles4.htm (It relates to your lot)

I'm sure I've been down this road before as I recognise some of the details I've just unearthed.
Tabitha appears on 1851 at Haggate with her grandmother. Trouble is it's a poor image and the names of her and her grandmother have been mis-transcribed.

Piece: 2251; Folio: 104; Page: 15
Haggate
Mary Rackser*, head, wid, 67, born Briercliffe
Tabatha Davis,** gr'daur, 12, born Briercliffe
Alen*** Lord, daur, 25, handloom weaver cotton, born Briercliffe
James Lord, son-in-law, 28, handloom weaver cotton, born Briercliffe
James Lord, gr'son 1 , born Briercliffe
John Lord, gr'son 4 , born Briercliffe
Robert Lord, gr'son 2days, born Briercliffe

*this should read 'Jackson'
**this should read 'Leaver'
***This should read 'Ellen'
So it looks like the father of Mary's child was a Jackson.

The Jackson family are at Haggate in 1841 with a 20-year old Tabatha, so that's obviously where the name came from.

I only know it's Jackson because I looked up the son-in-law's marriage to find his wife's maiden name, then looked up the Jacksons on 1841 to make sure there was a family there that fit the bill.
On this one occasion I don't blame the transcriber!

I notice your Sutcliffes are all in a nice tidy topic of their own. Is it a big job to do - there seem to be so many Leavers and I wondered whether we could do the same with them? Then all those people not interest in the Leaver tree wouldn't have to plough through them looking for something that does interest them.

I've had a look to see if it is possible to move the individual topics into one but it doesn't look like it. Still trying though.

OK, I have managed to merge 3 Leaver marriage topics.

What do you Leaver lot think? Do I continue and merge the rest into this?

Personally I prefer them to be separate, that way we can add notes under the person’s marriage and everything stays nice and tidy.

OK, I cannot undo this but I won't merge any more.

Sorry Mel, what I meant was a separate group for all the leaver marriages with each marriage being a separate topic within that - if you see what i mean.
Anyway, it's obviously not a quick 5 minute job so I think Kris is right. Leavve it be.
Sorry!

No need to apologise Maureen. As you know, suggestions always welcome.
