Think I might have the answer to that one.
One day two visitors to his house spotted a tabby asleep on the chair. One said to the other "What's that?", to which the other replied "It's a pussy cat".
Mistaking it for a fur cap, the first one thought his friend had said "It's a Pussick 'at" and that therefore the owner must be called Pussick. :wink:
