I visited these two churchyards yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to find that they have both been cleared of bramble and weeds. The lower part of St Thomas used to be virtually inaccessable, it's not now.

I have never found Wheatley Lane to be inaccessable but some of the stones used to be covered by bushes etc. I would say they are now almost all visible.

B*gger, I wish I'd known, never mind. I definately have some in Wheatley Lane and would like to know about a grave at St Thomas'.

Daniel Slater at Wheatley Lane

William Pollard at St Thomas' possibly with Margaret Pollard nee Bolton

My mum got married there also.

Both of these graveyards were getting overgrown again when I visited on Monday. It looks like they are trying to keep on top of it at Wheatley but the grass is hip height (I'm 5'2") in places.
The grass at St Thomas is mown but the lower section was getting quite weedy. It wasn't so easy to get to the very back though it would still be possible if you are determined enough.

Which places are you 5'2"? I am 5'0" everywhere I go!
