Official news of the death in action at Salonica of his son, Gunner Willie Proctor, of the R.F.A., has just been received by Mr. Henry Proctor, of Bank Street, Briercliffe. Gunner Proctor left his looms at Queen street early in October, 1914, and enlisted. After training at Preston and Woolwich, he was drafted to the Dardanelles. After a "home leave" he was sent to Salonica, where he remained until his death on September 26th. Gunner Proctor, who was in his 25th year, and unmarried, was a member of Hill Lane choir, and his name is on the Roll of Honour. Three other brothers in the Army - Albert is in Mesopotamia, Arthur and Harold are in France.
