I made this discovery while researching the previous residents of my niece's house in Harrow, Middlesex - but it has wider relevance
I found that the probate records of a husband and wife ( both died in 1941) gave Llandudno as the place of probate. My first thoughts were that there must have some family link to Llandudno. On further investigation I learned that the Principal Probate Registry (holding copies of wills for the whole country) was evacuated from London during the Second World War.
Interestingly, I also found that the General Register Office (Births, Marriages and Deaths) moved to Blackpool at the same time - and then went to Southport. Must be something about the seaside air!
