Burnley Express and News, Friday, March 7th.

Read this in The Burnley Express this weekend:
As part of its Silver Jubilee celebrations the Briercliffe Society has decided to re-issue Roger Frost's " A Lancashire Township: The History of Briercliffe-with-Extwistle" which was first published in 1982. The book will be available in two volumes, each of which will cost £8.75. Copies can be reserved by contacting Roger.

Bit of good news :D Stephanie.

At long last!
I knew Roger had these and did suggest, following a conversation with someone else, that the book was re-issued. He informed me then that he had a number of copies that required binding. He must have found someone who will bind the quantity that he has.

How/where do we contact Roger? Can we reach him through the Society, (not the forum)?

Joan

I will PM his details to you Joan. I'm afraid I don't know anything other than what is posted here about the actual sale of the book.

Is there any update on when this book is going to be available? I'm paranoid they'll all be gone before he remembers I want on each for me & Kris.

He told me the end of July Maureen. I will chase this up later today or over the weekend. Leave it with me.

I contacted Roger some time ago about the book. He told me the end of July as well, but there wasn't a definite date.

Finally managed to get through to Roger...the book will not be ready before the exhibition in September. It is being bound right now but there has been some sort of a delay.

Will he be selling them at the exhibition?

He didn't say, maybe he will take orders if there are any. I bet it will be the end of September now.

Was anything said about the book at the meeting?

I heard him mention to someone that the printer had got a large order and was doing that first. Pretty sure it was that book he was talking about.

Almost certainly, although I thought it only needed to be bound?
