Hello I hope you're well I'm Matthew-Alexander Britcliffe. I'm descended from the parents of George Stephenson. My grandfather was Francis John Kelly, fire chief of Blackburn and Assistant Fire Chief of Lancashire. His father was Frank Kelly of Whalley Range, Blackburn My maternal Grandmother is the route back to the Stephenson's. She was born Eva Mary Bull in about 1916. Lived in the middle of Blackburn, her father was Cornelius Bull and she had a brother named Alf. Then we are descended from a Sally Ann Foster/Forster who is quite close to George and Robert. My cousin has attempted to make the link via written records however many of my ancestors didn't have 2 pennies to rub together never mind get someone to write the history down. I have relatives who are Tories but I am completely disassociated with them. I supported Jeremy Corbyn but now support the invocation of the County Palatine of Lancashire to its pre 1974 boundaries. My distant cousin Dr Simon Biltcliffe DBA is leading a similar initiative to take Yorkshire out of the UK. |
