I wish to find information re the parents of John Willie Mason (born 1867 ) and/or Mary Sutcliffe ( born 1867). Their children were Nanny Mason ( 1894 - 1954), Ellen (1892 - 1973), Willie ( 1898 - 1976) and Clara ( 1900 - 1978), who all lived in Briercliffe/Harle Syke. |

Morning, welcome to the forum. I believe the parents of Mary Sutcliffe were John Sutcliffe (Abt 1842 - ) and Ann Stanworth (Abt 1843 - ). Mary is the eldest of 7 children that I am aware of. If this is correct, our 2 lines will meet another 3 generations further back. This is the 1881 census for Mary when she was last found with her parents 1881 RG11/4155 folio 96 pg 11 Lower Halstead, Worsthorne With Hurstwood SUTCLIFFE, John Head Married M 38 1843 Stone Quarryman Briercliffe Lancashire SUTCLIFFE, Ann Wife Married F 37 1844 Extwistle Lancashire SUTCLIFFE, Mary Daughter Single F 13 1868 Cotton Weaver Briercliffe Lancashire SUTCLIFFE, Janet Daughter Single F 5 1876 Scholar Burnley Lancashire SUTCLIFFE, Ellen Daughter Single F 4 1877 Extwistle Lancashire SUTCLIFFE, Joseph Son Single M 2 1879 Worsthorne Lancashire SUTCLIFFE, Catherine Daughter Single F 0 1881 Worsthorne Lancashire |
