This is fantastic thank you! The information itemised as St James A35 is my family for sure - now I need to find out just where St James Church is so I can pay a visit. |

Go up Burnley Rd Harle Syke from Burnley, turn right on to Queen St , nearly to the end and the church is on the right, you cannot miss it. If you get to Harle Syke anyone will tell you where it is. Are you coming far? You can find it on multimap if that helps. |

Thank you - do you know if the church is still open? I have been told my grandmother donated the family bible to St James Church it would be interesting to see if it has survived if so that would be a dream which I can't imagine! Sorry no not far at all I live in Bacup ! |

I believe it is still open. Might be worth contacting the vicar to arrange a "viewing". |

Definitely still open. They have things like mum & baby mornings too. Graveyard is quite well kept. I'll try to have a look when I get home to see if A35 is among the photos not yet added to the site. It's possible as I still have quite a lot to add. |

Thank you all very much! My husband and I managed to find the church and my grgr grandfathers crypt which I never knew existed before! Now I am on the trail of the last named on the Gravestone Mabel Coulston. Have already found out quite a bit and obtained her death cert, still waiting for the birth cert. Wouldn't have known any of this without you wonderful people and this fantastic site thank you all those who put in the work ! |

We're not sure yet. It was suggested at this weeks meeting so Roger will have to make the necessary arrangements. I keep the events calendar quite up to date so it's worth checking that. Our meetings are on the last Wednesday of the month except July, August and December when we do not have a meeting. http://www.briercliffesociety.co.uk/Eve ... lendar.htm |
